Today, as my husband and I were going to a funeral we came across the road that we were suppose to take. The road was an ice covered dirt road that had frozen snow lightly powered over it. It flowed up into a very steep hill. Nevertheless, my husband and I were ready to tackle it. We were going to be there for our friend no matter what. As we began to get speed to get up the hill, the car suddenly dug its tires into the ground and began to growl. My husband pushed on the gas even more, really believing that he could do this. Another growl and another growl until we both knew, it simply wasn’t going to work. My daughter then began to suggest that maybe if we had a jeep or a truck, the wheels would be better equipped to handle the steep hill. Slowly, we backed the car back down the hill knowing that we would miss our friend’s father funeral. We tried very hard, but the gear we had just couldn’t do the job.
God always has a lesson in everyday experiences. The point is, GET EQUIPPED! It doesn’t matter how much you think you can do something, or how motivated you are to possess something, without the “Equipping” it means absolutely nothing. Even if you already know how to do it, continue to learn to maintain your skill by being teachable. Cars are made for driving, but without the weight, the right type of engine and tires, there are still things the car cannot do.
My personal goal this year is to increase my understanding, continuously learn from the masters and attend classes to improve my ability. No one can deny my heart, but anyone can deny my skill. Be a Master, improve and move forward.
