One of the shades of life is the power of assumptions. Assumptions can literally change your entire direction of life just by having you believe in an imagination that holds no wait or substance. Many of us have been the victims of someone’s assumptions. Rather through persona or make-believe gestures, most of us have lived through the ideas of another’s imagination.
It is crucial that we begin... a compassionate life-line of simply communicating and listening without a response of one’s critical perceptions. It is crippling to be in a place where one believes they “know you” and have already judged your character without a proper introduction through the common courtesy of value and love. To actually judge someone or assume what one is thinking to the point where it will regulate an imagined offense, is within itself mind boggling. To experience the yo-yo effect of being “loved one minute” and “dismissed the next” is on the edge of spiritual schizophrenia. Or to untangle the dynamics of being favored by God based on the actions of mankind’s mood swings is unsettling. Yet, we do it. We as a people seek the opinions and authentication of another person’s thoughts. In doing this, it breeds the non-stretchable boundaries of assumption. This habitation is the most insecure, unsuccessful, tormenting, and obscure position that one could be in. Wrestling with another person’s thoughts is dangerous. Yet, to assume anything propagates lack, frustration and lies. You can literally miss a “good thing” because an imagined thought kept you in a posture of not communicating to obtain understanding.
The Bible states to bring down and hold captive, every vain imagination. We must learn how to see clearly without the consort of past experiences, who we are looking at in the very moment we are in. People are valuable. They are the most precious resource every produced. To have a mentality that would not allow communication on any level is at best, a sin. It is a travesty that can only end with great loss of gifts, talents and relationships.
Build your heart, no matter how hard it is on the pillars of pure love. Value every person where they stand. Communicate and allow room for growth in another individual. This action not only unifies the Body of Christ, but brings your mind into a secured posture of tremendous peace. ~#LynnetteApplingMinistry
